Little Black Ant

Ants are social insects that live in colonies. An ant colony consists of workers, queens, males, eggs, larvae, and pupae. Most workers spend their time building and maintaining the nest, which can be found in the ground or in wood, depending on the species. When ants nest in the wood of a building, they usually cause less damage than termites, because all they will do is hollow out a place for the nest. Unlike termites, ants do not eat wood and cannot digest cellulose.

One of the first steps in ant control is to determine what kinds of ants are infesting your home. The trained professionals at ATTACK can do this, as well as determine the possible locations of the nests. Here's what you can do to help make our treatment more effective:

  • Eliminate high moisture conditions and replace rotting wood

  • Trim trees and shrubbery so that branches don't touch your house.

  • Clean up leaves and mulch that is right next to your house.

  • Caulk holes in your house where cables enter.

  • Inside, clean countertops and backsplashes.

  • Remove trash from recepatcles daily and keep trash cans clean.

  • Check any indoor plants to make sure they are not a source of ant infestation.
